Skilled workers and professionals in Canada

One of the main goals of Canadian immigration is to welcome qualified newcomers who can contribute to the growth of the economy in Canada. Skilled workers who settle in Canada permanently are valuable to the Canadian economy and the strength of its workforce.

Candidates admitted under the skilled worker programs will receive a Canadian permanent residence visa authorizing them to immigrate to Canada with their families.

As a skilled worker or professional, you have several options to consider. For example, you can apply under the Federal Skilled Worker Program. In addition, if you already know in which province you wish to settle, you can submit an application under one of the programs offered by the provinces. Below is a list of programs. We also encourage you to complete our free assessment to find out which programs are available to you.

Federal Skilled Worker Class: This program is for people with some work experience planning to settle in any province or territory in Canada except the province of Quebec

Quebec Skilled Worker Program: Applicants planning to settle in the province of Quebec can apply under this program.

Provincial Nominee Program: Most provinces and territories have created their own program for skilled workers who plan to live and work in a particular province or territory. There are faster immigration programs that allow you to obtain a nomination certificate from a province. In most cases, this certificate will allow you to immigrate faster than another immigration program would allow.

Many Canadian employers are actively seeking skilled foreign workers to join their teams as soon as possible. If you can get a job offer from a Canadian employer, you may also be eligible for a faster processing process for your Canadian immigration application.
